I know that their population has markedly increased with conservation efforts, but I can&#8217;t recall ever seeing one before. Perhaps I have, I have a vague memory of seeing one while fishing as a kid. I certainly never observed one in the wild for as long as I did the last couple of days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday just after noon I sat on my balcony and noticed this on the power pole nearby. I caught a crow (?) flying over the eagle and seeming to warn other birds of it&#8217;s presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1080\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1920 \/ 1080;\" width=\"1920\" controls src=\"https:\/\/davidnilles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/20260410_123945-1.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When I left the eagle was still perched right there. When I returned it had gone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in the evening we spotted the eagle once again out our window and decided to walk to the power pole it was on. I wonder how far it travels and whether it will continue to live near me.
